A dynamic jazz octet which captivates audiences everywhere with their soul-stirring compositions, creating vivid and ever changing musical landscapes. Students are guided through style and influences ranging from swing, modal and ECM-styles to Latin and West African strains. Kriya's members are veteran teachers/clinicians and are some of the most highly sought after musicians for contemporary Bay Area jazz, collectively having worked with the likes of Michael Brecker, Synton Marsalis, Joe Lovano, Joe Henderson, Paul McCandless, Jimmy Heath, Joey Baron, Trilok Gurtu and others.
